The scholarship provides:  

– Tuition fees for the full duration of the program.  

– Monthly stipend for living expenses (amount varies by host country).  

– Round-trip economy airfare between the scholar’s home country and the host university.  

– Health insurance, travel allowance, and other academic costs.

Description: The Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is a prestigious scholarship initiative funded by the Government of Japan and administered by the World Bank. It supports students from developing countries to pursue graduate studies in development-related fields at selected universities worldwide.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:  

– Be a national of a World Bank member country eligible for financing (excluding high-income economies),https://www.worldbank.org/en/programs/scholarships/brief/countries-eligible-for-jjwbgsp-scholarship  

– Have at least 3 years of development-related work experience after a bachelor’s degree.  

– Be employed in a development-focused field at the time of application (exceptions for refugees).  

– Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) earned at least 3 years prior to the application deadline.  

– Not hold dual citizenship with any high-income country.  

– Be in good health.  

– Priority is given to: Women, disadvantaged groups, and applicants from fragile/conflict-affected states.
