Description: The New Zealand Government offers scholarships to professionals from eligible countries to learn new skills in New Zealand. Scholars can use these skills to progress their country’s social and economic development.

Eligibility:

To apply for a Vocational Short Term Training Scholarship, applicants must;

• Be a citizen of one of the following countries or territories: Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna.
• Have lived in their country of citizenship for the last two years or more.
• Not be a citizen or permanent resident of any of the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, any European Union country, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom or the United States of America.
• Be at least 18 years old at the time they start the scholarship.
• Not be currently serving in the military.
• Not had a Manaaki Scholarship terminated in the past 5 years.
• Have at least one year of full-time or two years of part-time work experience (paid, unpaid or voluntary) that relates to their career and/or proposed training programme.
