Description: Since its inception in 2010, the PROMOS Scholarship Program administered by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD and funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research, has provided partial scholarships to support students pursuing academic experiences abroad. Application deadlines for the PROMOS Scholarship are March 15 and September 15, with the application portal opening one month before each deadline.
Eligibility:
Students from all faculties at RWTH are eligible if they meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program at RWTH
- Hold German or international citizenship. (stays in a student’s home country are not eligible (the home country is defined as the country where the student has resided for most of the past five years)
- Have not received a PROMOS scholarship for their current academic program or have received less than six months of funding. Eligibility resets with the start of a new academic program, e.g. transitioning from a bachelor’s to a master’s degree.
- Have secured confirmation for their stay abroad (for independently organized stays, please register as a Free Mover)
Doctoral candidates, except medical students, are not eligible for PROMOS funding. Interested doctoral candidates should contact the DAAD directly for alternative funding opportunities.
