Description: Sciences Po and the Mastercard Foundation have partnered to help students from sub-Saharan Africa with exceptional academic backgrounds but facing financial difficulties gain access to world-renowned training in the humanities and social sciences. The Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Program aims to contribute to the emergence of a generation of winners who aspire to make a real and lasting impact on the continent’s major issues.
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program aims to create conditions for access to inclusive and excellent education for young people from sub-Saharan Africa. By 2030 and thanks to a new action plan ( Young Africa Works Strategy ), the Foundation aims to enable 30 million young Africans to integrate the job market in dignified conditions.
Eligibility:
- Have citizenship of a sub-Saharan African country. Candidates with a second citizenship of a State of the European Economic Area are not eligible.
- Be in the process of obtaining or have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree from one of Sciences Po’s reference institutions .
- Or be registered (or have been registered) in a training or mentoring program of one of the reference gateway organizations .
- Need funding for higher education (note: proof of your financial situation will be required to put together your file).
- Commit to becoming actors of change in Africa, particularly in the areas of public policies and major political, environmental and societal transitions.
- Be under 35 years old at the time of starting a Master’s degree.
- Not hold or be in the process of obtaining a Master’s degree.
- Be a candidate for a two-year master’s degree in one of the seven Sciences Po Schools . Applicants to one-year master’s programs, dual degree programs or joint master’s degrees are not eligible for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Program.
