Description: The Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarships recognize outstanding academic achievement of students pursuing graduate studies in Alberta. They were established to encourage the best and brightest students, including international students, to study in Alberta.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for this award, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Is enrolled full-time in a master’s, doctoral, or graduate-level program at the time of application:
- Was enrolled full-time in the fall semester prior to the application cycle
- Has completed a minimum of 3 program courses within the previous academic year
- Meets the residency requirements as defined by the Government of Alberta Advanced Education Scholarship Programs in one of the categories below:
- International – Non-Canadian (Permanent Resident or Landed Immigrant) resident of Alberta
- Indigenous – Required to provide proof of Indigenous ancestry (Status or Non-Status Indian/First Nations, Metis or Inuit) and be resident of Alberta
- Domestic – Canadian Citizen and resident of Alberta
- Has never previously received this award
- Has achieved a program GPA of 3.6 or higher
