Description: The Award was established in 2018 and is funded by the Faculty of Engineering Student Support fund. The main purpose of the Award is to ensure a greater number of talented and deserving students experiencing financial hardship have the opportunity to fulfil their academic goals of undergraduate or postgraduate study.
Eligibility:
1. The Award may be made to students who have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time or part-time enrolment in undergraduate or postgraduate study in the Faculty of Engineering.
2. The Award is tenable by domestic and international students. The basis of selection will be financial hardship, a personal statement outlining how receiving the Award could assist the candidate, and academic achievement (see Notes II to IV).
3. The Award will be made by the University of Auckland Council upon the recommendation of a Selection Committee comprising the Deputy Dean (Academic) of the Faculty of Engineering (or nominee), the Student Development and Engagement Manager of the Faculty of Engineering (or nominee) and the Kaiarahi of the Faculty of Engineering (or nominee).
4. The Award will be paid as a lump sum upon award.
